As the chair of the College of Education Faculty Council, Staples oversees the group that is the representative voice for the college. The group is responsible for listening to the interests and perspectives of faculty, staff and students, and mediating those interests and perspectives with the dean’s office. Faculty Council covers a multitude of topics, with current discussions focusing on the following issues: teaching evaluations for Penn State World Campus instructors; new fundraising campaigns for the college and University; and the Black Box mentoring project, an idea proposed by Dean David H. Monk.
