LEMONT FURNACE, Pa. — Jason Apel, a student at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus, has been named the recipient of a merit-based scholarship from the Three Rivers Academic Consortium. The $250 scholarship is intended to help physical therapist or physical therapist assistant students at universities in the consortium to achieve their clinical education goals.

Apel said the scholarship will help him to finish his final semester of the two-year physical therapist assistant associate degree program at Penn State Fayette. “The money will go toward the cost of transportation and uniforms required for my final clinical rotations,” he said.

Pamela Pologruto, physical therapist assistant clinical coordinator and instructor at Penn State Fayette, is pleased Apel was recognized for his commitment to learning.

“Jason has a strong dedication to his education and demonstrates exemplary professional behaviors in the classroom and during clinical experiences," Pologruto said. "He will prove to be a wonderful addition to the field of physical therapy.”
