YORK, Pa. — Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech is regarded as one of the most powerful speeches in history. Six Penn State York students will do a dramatic reading of King’s famous speech at 12:15 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 4, in the conference center at Penn State York. The program, sponsored by the Penn State York Black Student Union (BSU) and the campus diversity committee, is free and open to the public.
This program is part of the BSU’s celebration of Black History Month. Under the direction of Ann Fetterman, instructor in English and a longtime member of the campus diversity committee, students Papakojo Kuranchie, Francyou Desse, Maritha Yeboah, Eden Ofray, Kirsten McWilliams and Destinee Mateo, will take part in the reading.
Following the reading, those in attendance will be asked to share their dream for America.
