Palmer Museum of Art announces 'The Art of Poetry' spring readings

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Palmer Museum of Art invites museumgoers to surround themselves in visual and verbal imagery at the museum while poets and storytellers from the Penn State community read their latest work in a feast for the eyes and ears in "The Art of Poetry" spring series. 

Paola Corso, poet, essayist, and author of "The Laundress Catches Her Breath" and "Once I Was Told the Air Was Not for Breathing," will present at 12:10 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 3.

Abby Minor, poet and author of "The Velvet Season" and "Voices from Outside, Lit from Inside," will present at 12:10 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2.

Lisa Sewell, associate professor of English; academic director, Gender and Women's Studies, Villanova University; and author of "Impossible Object," will present at 12:10 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6.

Exhibitions on view at the Palmer Museum of Art this spring are "From Dada to Dalí: Surrealist Works on Paper" from Jan. 12 through May 8; "Consciously Surreal: Photography, the Uncanny, and the Body" from Jan. 12 through May 8; and "Small Prints, Big Artists: Renaissance and Baroque Masterpieces from Carnegie Museum of Art" from Feb. 2 through May 15. "Small Prints, Big Artists: Renaissance and Baroque Masterpieces from Carnegie Museum of Art" was organized by the Carnegie Museum of Art.

The Palmer Museum of Art at Penn State is located on Curtin Road and admission is free. Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. The museum is closed Mondays and some holidays. From Saturday, March 5, through Sunday, March 13, the museum will be open from noon to 4 p.m. The museum will be closed on Sunday, March 27.
