Penn State Athletics and WPSU Penn State are set to pair up again this year for another season of “In the Paint,” a weekly series documenting the Nittany Lion basketball team throughout the 2015-16 season.
The “In the Paint” series debuts Friday, Dec. 18, on WPSU, Root Sports and CSN-Philadelphia. Several other networks and markets throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic areas will premiere the show on Saturday, Dec. 19, or Sunday, Dec. 20. A full affiliate schedule is listed below.
The Emmy-nominated program debuts just one day before Penn State squares off against Drexel on the road at the Palestra. The matchup against the Dragons opens a five-game road swing for the Nittany Lions, as they head west to take on Colorado and either SMU or Kent State in Las Vegas the following week, before traveling to Maryland and Michigan to open the Big Ten slate.
The 30-minute series will follow the Nittany Lions on and off the court, providing an in-depth look at the Nittany Lion men’s basketball program. The fast-paced segment will also include highlights and features from Penn State’s battles on the hardwood.
WPSU Penn State also works in partnership with Penn State Athletics to produce “Unrivaled: The Penn State Football Story,” Presented by Pepsi and women’s basketball’s “Courtside with Coquese.”
WPSU Penn State serves central Pennsylvania and national audiences with programming, educational services and community outreach. This public media service produces, acquires and distributes programs that address local interests and reflect the diverse cultural, political, geographic and demographic characteristics of an audience within central Pennsylvania.
The Nittany Lions are 7-3 on the year as they travel to Drexel to take on the Dragons Saturday, Dec. 19, at 7 p.m. in the Palestra. Penn State improved to 5-0 all-time vs. Drexel following a 73-68 win last season in the first meeting between the teams since 1992.
