ABINGTON, Pa. — "Writing is mostly about a feeling, and you need to learn to listen to your own excitement. Make sure you have a lot of ideas because most of them won't work. Writing and research should be exciting to you. Writing and research should get weird and be fascinating because it takes a lot of energy to continue with a project."

— Best-selling author Jason Fagone, a 2001 journalism alumnus, spent an afternoon with Penn State Abington students enrolled in Liliana Naydan's English 416: Science Writing course. Fagone and Naydan, assistant professor of English and writing program coordinator, are longtime friends and Penn State alumni.

Fagone writes about science, sports and culture, and he is writing his third book. He writes and edits for Wired, Philadelphia magazine, GQ, Esquire, The New York Times Magazine, Slate, and NewYorker.com.
