Two Penn State Lehigh Valley basketball players named to all-tournament teams

The Penn State Lehigh Valley men's basketball team opened their 2015-16 season over the weekend in the Wolf's Bus Lines Classic dropping both their first game against host Division II Shippensburg University, 89-52, Friday night and Saturday's game to Division II Lock Haven University, 88-62.  

Sophomore Edward Sanchez paced Lehigh Valley with 17 points against Shippensburg, shooting 9-10 from the foul line. Sanchez again put up good numbers against Lock Haven scoring 14 points, shooting 4-8 from 3-point land. Sanchez was named to the all-tournament team.  

Penn State Lehigh Valley men's basketball will have a week of practice before traveling to Williams Trade School for a 7 p.m. game on Monday, Nov. 23.

The Penn State Lehigh Valley women's basketball team opened their 2015-16 season over the weekend in the Rose City Classic losing both their first game against host Drew University, 84-50, Friday night and Saturday's game to Misericordia University, 68-53.

Freshman Gia Erie paced Lehigh Valley with 12 points against Drew, shooting 6-8 from the field. Erie chipped in with eight points and shot 4-4 from the foul line against Misericordia. Erie was named to the All-Tournament team. 

Penn State Lehigh Valley women’s basketball play again at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 21, at Lehigh Carbon Community College.
