Hupcey is associate dean for graduate education and research; Kitko is an assistant professor of nursing and Macy Faculty Scholar; and Alonso is a student in the Ph.D. program.

The NINR symposium, "Advancing Science, Improving Lives," was the first in a year of scholarly events planned to mark the 30th anniversary of nursing science at the National Institutes of Health. Featuring keynote addresses, scientific presentations, a scientific panel discussion, and a research poster session, the symposium highlighted the many accomplishments of NINR scientists and showcased the impact of their work.
