HUB-Robeson Galleries to host double reception Oct. 27

October 21, 2015

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The HUB-Robeson Galleries will be hosting a double reception from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 27, to celebrate two first-floor exhibits: BorrandoFronteras/ErasingBorders, currently in the HUB Gallery, and Images by Maggie Wolszczan in Art Alley. Light refreshments will be served.

BorrandoFronteras/ErasingBorders is the culmination of collaborations and conversations between five Cuban and Cuban-American artists. Together, these artists employ their various testimonies, life experiences, and art studio practices to explore themes of identity and migration. BorrandoFronteras/ErasingBorders will remain open until Dec. 6.

Wolszczan is a State College Area High School alumna and owner of the Fraser Street Gallery in downtown State College. Her oil paintings feature a wide variety of large-scale flowers and other nature themes depicted in bright, vibrant colors. Images by Maggie Wolszczan will remain open until Dec. 13.

The HUB Gallery, located in the HUB-Robeson Center, is an intimate gallery dedicated to the inclusiveness of all national and international cultures, artists and art forms. The gallery seeks to provide educational experiences beyond the classroom while emphasizing and fostering understanding of the visual arts by primarily focusing on contemporary art and artists.

Art Alley, located beside the HUB Gallery, is a versatile, very accessible and highly visible space, which gives artists an opportunity to exhibit their work in an open area. These exhibits seek to expose students and the University community to a great variety of art forms and expression.
