UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn State School of Visual Arts’ Anderson Lecture Series will host visiting artist Paddy Johnson for a lecture titled "Ten Years of Art F City" at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 29, in the Palmer Museum of Art's Palmer Lipcon Auditorium. Johnson’s Art F City is a growing archive of nine years’ worth of material connecting the whole field of visual culture, including art, gifs, the gentrification of New York City, non-stop pop culture, and cats.

Johnson, the founding editor of Art F City, writes a column on digital art for Artnet. In addition to her work on the blog, her writing has appeared in such publications as New York Magazine, The New York Times, and The Economist. Johnson lectures widely about art and the Internet at venues including Yale University, Parsons, Rutgers, South by Southwest, and the Whitney Independent Study Program. In 2007, she received a scholarship to attend the iCommons conference in Croatia as the art critic. In 2008, she served on the board of the Rockefeller Foundation New Media Fellowships and became the first blogger to receive a Creative Capital Arts Writers grant from the Creative Capital Foundation. Paddy was nominated for best art critic at the Rob Pruitt Art Awards in 2010 and 2013. In 2014, she was the subject of a VICE profile for her work as an independent art blogger.

Lectures are free of charge and open to the public. For complete details about the John M. Anderson Endowed Lecture Series, and an entire listing of events, please visit: http://sova.psu.edu/anderson.
