A: Project LionPATH is a multi-year initiative that will replace Penn State’s current student information system (ISIS). Plans for a new system were unveiled in 2012 and a year later, Project LionPATH was underway.
Roll out of the new system will take place in phases with the first phase having launched in August. This phase included transferring student biographical information to the new system and allowing admissions processing for undergraduate and graduate students enrolling in the fall of 2016. By the end of September, the fall 2016 course catalog and schedule will be released.
The complete roll out of Project LionPATH is estimated to take 16 months with the final functionalities being released in December 2016.
“LionPATH will enable us to engage in better strategic planning and more informed decision making through the use of its enhanced technology and improved data collection, management and reporting capabilities,” Associate Dean for Undergraduate and Graduate Education Stephanie Knight said. “Project LionPATH also serves as a catalyst for examination and revision of existing policies, processes and procedures that no longer serve us well. While change is always unsettling, I am convinced that the direct and indirect improvements will be worth the effort.”
