Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence offering workshop on student learning

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence will present a free workshop titled “Getting Your Students Involved in Learning” from 12:45 to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 8, in 201 Chambers Building. The workshop will be repeated from 12:45 to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 9, in 315 Rider Building.

When planning a class session, we often focus on what we, as the instructors, are going to do. But it’s also crucially important to think about what we’ll ask the students to do to explore or apply the course content. In this session, presented by Research Associate Chas Brua and Graduate Consultants Lauren Brooks and David Favre, we’ll discuss active-learning strategies that help students learn.
