Architectural engineering to host annual career fair Sept. 22

Event is the largest architectural engineering career fair in the United States

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Department of Architectural Engineering will hosts its annual career fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sept. 22 at the Bryce Jordan Center.

The event is the largest architectural engineering career fair in the United States with more than 130 companies seeking students for internship, co-op and full-time positions.

The career fair is open to all engineering majors as well as architecture students. Last year, more than 500 students attended, including aspiring engineers from North Carolina A&T State University, Tennessee State University, Carnegie Mellon University and Appalachian State University in North Carolina.

“Many of the largest and best known AE (architectural engineering), consulting engineering, contractor, facilities, building product manufacturers, and construction management firms in the building industry will attend,” said M. Kevin Parfitt, professor of architectural engineering and director of the architectural engineering senior thesis capstone program.

In addition to 23 sponsors and 42 corporate partners, Southland Industries, Syska Hennessy Group, P.J. Dick Incorporated and Trumbull Corporation are supporting the career fair as industry leaders.
