The Campus Consciousness Tour (CCT), featuring Nate Ruess, lead singer of the band Fun and The Format, will take to the stage at Penn State York’s Pullo Family Performing Arts Center (The Pullo Center) at 7:30 p.m. Sept.  22.  Ticket prices are $30 (plus applicable service fees). Penn State York students can purchase one ticket at the special price of $17. Tickets are available at The Pullo Center Box Office, charge by phone at 717-505-8900, or online at http://pullocenter.york.psu.edu.

Half music tour, half environmental  campaign, CCT aims to inspire and activate students in an electric atmosphere, while leaving a positive impact on each community the tour visits. In addition to educating and mobilizing students, the tour is run to have a minimal environmental footprint. CCT is a project of REVERB, an  environmental nonprofit organization dedicated to educating and engaging musicians and their fans to take action toward a more sustainable future. REVERB has worked on more than 150 major tours including Dave Matthews Band, Maroon 5, Fun, Jack Johnson, and created CCT specifically to engage students right where they live–on campus.

Nate Ruess knew he wanted to call his album “Grand Romantic” long before he finished writing its songs. The singer-songwriter says he's always been a romantic, even if he's also always been the cynical kind. Last summer, as he began writing and demoing tracks for his solo debut, his awareness of these dueling qualities was especially pronounced; Ruess was in the early days of a new relationship, with all of its anxiety and excitement. Standing in the shower one day, he started singing the melody and lyric to "Nothing Without Love," “Grand Romantic's” linchpin tune. The rest is history.

Ruess has learned to let go and trust his instincts and listeners can hear what he means on tracks including "Nothing Without Love," the dramatic "Great Big Storm," and the album opening "AhHa." “Grand Romantic” is on sale now via Fueled by Ramen.
