New Penn State Harrisburg integrated programs can lead to graduate degree faster

Penn State Harrisburg now offers two new integrated undergraduate/graduate (IUG) programs, one in applied psychological research and one in electrical engineering. The integrated programs allow strong undergraduate students to earn a bachelor’s and master’s degree in five years.

The integrated program in applied psychological research will permit students in the psychology undergraduate major to gain more comprehensive research experience while earning two degrees. Students would earn a bachelor of science in psychology and a master of arts in applied psychological research. The integrated electrical engineering program will offer an accelerated path for any student who wishes to earn bachelor and master of science degrees in electrical engineering in five years.

“These programs offer exceptional students early in their studies the opportunity to develop long-range academic goals, work with graduate faculty in advancing research and knowledge, and be academically challenged to match the level of their abilities,” said Peter Idowu, assistant dean for graduate studies. “For students, programs such as this typically lead to lower costs and a shorter time period to complete a graduate degree.”

In addition to the two new programs, Penn State Harrisburg offers integrated programs in American studies and computer science.
