UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — This week, we recognize five Penn Staters who go above and beyond what's asked of them in their work at the University. Thank you to:

Jason Williams, in the Department of Psychology, whose nominator wrote: "Dr. Williams has provided feedback that has been direct, meaningful and inspirational. He is motivating and supportive and I am grateful for his leadership!!! I will keep some of my papers as a reminder of what great feedback looks like!"

Jan Foust, in General Stores, whose nominator wrote: "Jan Foust provides great service, handling all requests promptly and cheerfully. She makes sure questions get answered and things get done. No matter what problem I have, she is willing and helpful in sorting it out, making it a pleasure to work with her."

Vernon Davis, with the Office of Physical Plant, whose nominator wrote: "Vern Davis, from OPP, was an excellent instructor for the Accelerated Contractor Training (ACT) program. This program provided assistance for minority and female owned businesses that had previously been denied opportunities or who had not been paid for their work. Vern is recognized as a hero to these contractors."

Anna Akintunde, at Penn State DuBois, whose nominator wrote: "Anna provides students and recent graduates with job opportunities and internship information. She has helped numerous students with their resumes and interviewing skills to prepare them for life after college. She goes above and beyond to make sure any student who needs her help receives it."

Colette Orlandi, with the Materials Research Institute, whose nominator wrote: "Colette Orlandi, administrative assistant for the Materials Characterizations Lab (MCL), is the essence of the 'We Are!' spirit. Assisting the operations manager and about 20 research staff is her job, but it’s her warm personality, hearty laugh and contagious smile that are special. She brings a warmth to MCL that makes every day at Penn State better."

Do you know someone who deserves a shout-out? If you do, consider taking a minute to nominate that person by filling out a short online form. For more information about the process, visit the "We Are!" guidelines
