UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Penn State women's golf team unveiled its 2015-16 schedule June 3. The squad opens the season with its only home tournament of the year, the Nittany Lion Invitational, on Saturday, Sept. 5 and Sunday, Sept. 6 at the Penn State Blue Course.

"We are excited about the 2015-16 tournament schedule as we have a great mix of some old traditional events, as well as some new exciting competitions," Head Coach Denise St. Pierre said. "We invite all fans to come and watch us play as we travel about the country. Our events are free and we love seeing our Nittany Lion family on the road!"

The Nittany Lion Invitational, which is free admission for the public, moves from a three-day tournament to a two-day tournament. The teams will still play three rounds.

Following the NLI, Penn State returns to the Cougar Classic in Charleston, South Carolina from Sunday, Sept. 13 through Tuesday, Sept. 15. The Nittany Lions then travel to Madison, Wisconsin for the East/West Matches from Sunday, Sept. 20 through Tuesday, Sept. 22.

After a two-week break, the Nittany Lions travel to North Carolina for a pair of tournaments in the Pinehurst Invitational on Monday, Oct. 12 and Tuesday, Oct. 13 and the Landfall Tradition from Thursday, Oct. 22 through Sunday, Oct. 25 to close out the fall slate.

The Nittany Lions begin spring play in Mesa, Arizona at the Clover Cup from Friday, March 11 through Sunday, March 13. Penn State then heads to the Briar's Creek Invitational (March 21-22) in Charleston, S.C., followed by the John Kirk Panther Invitational at Georgia State (March 27-29).

Penn State closes out the regular season with the Seahawk Invitational on Saturday, April 9 and Sunday, April 10, before heading to the Big Ten Championships in Indianapolis from Friday, April 22 through Sunday, April 24.

Her season-low round was a 73 (+1) at the Nittany Lion Invitational. Rising sophomore Ariana Coyle Diez (Mount Merrion, Dublin, Ireland) is expected to return to the course after missing the spring season. If four fall appearances, Coyle Diez posted a team-best 75.92 scoring average. She registered the lowest round of the season for Penn State with a 4-under 68 in the first round of the Nittany Lion Invitational.
