Children’s Miracle Network raised $4,035,205 for Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital in 2014-2015. The total was announced during the 31st annual Children’s Miracle Network Telethon, which aired this past weekend on WGAL-TV8.

The total represents a year-long fundraising effort by thousands of individuals and more than 135 corporate and community partners. The total also includes $263,268 in pledges that were made by phone, mail and online during the telethon. These gifts will support programs that help families at the Children’s Hospital, including Child Life, Family-Centered Care and Care Coordination. Since 1984, Children’s Miracle Network has raised more than $56 million to benefit kids and families at Penn State Hershey.

Top corporate donors for the year included GIANT Food Stores, Rite Aid, Walmart and Sam’s Club, Cumulus Media, Inc., area credit unions, Costco, employees of Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and Penn State College of Medicine, employees of The Hershey Company and employees of Hershey Entertainment & Resorts. Local community groups, pediatric patients and families also raised money through lemonade stands, golf outings, races and sporting events.

“We are very grateful for the community’s continued support of our children’s hospital,” said Dr. Craig Hillemeier, dean of Penn State College of Medicine, chief executive officer of Penn State Hershey Medical Center and Health System, and Penn State’s senior vice president for health affairs. “Thanks to many caring individuals and corporate partners, we are able to provide kids and families with world class care close to home. On behalf of our patients, their families and our medical staff, thank you.”
