Wireless Internet on Penn State campuses experiencing service disruption

A disruption in the wireless service at Penn State's campuses has affected the ability of some students, faculty and staff to connect to the “PSU” wireless network. Though the wireless disruption is unrelated to efforts that are underway in the College of Engineering, the University's IT Service Desk is currently fully engaged in supporting the college relative to last week’s events.

In order to resolve the issue, faculty and staff members who are unable to connect to wireless need to contact their college or unit’s IT support (not the IT Service Desk). Students at University Park need to contact the Knowledge Commons and students at other campus locations can contact local service desks for help.

Students, faculty and staff also can attempt to reconnect to wireless themselves by joining the “psuwirelesssetup” network and visiting wireless.psu.edu/joinnow to reconfigure wireless settings. Again, any requests for assistance should be directed to local IT support staff.
