Workshop to focus on student loan repayment strategies

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.— The University Libraries will hold a Student Loan Repayment Strategies workshop from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, in Mann Assembly Room, 103 Paterno Library. The workshop is free and students can register online.

When you graduate, withdraw from school or drop below half-time enrollment status, you have six months before the first payment is due on your subsidized and unsubsidized loans. Students often wait until graduation to make student loan repayment plans, but in many cases, this could be too late.

In this workshop, Daad Rizk, Penn State financial literacy manager, will explain the student loan repayment process to help you avoid student loan borrowing mistakes, provide specific tips on budgeting and help you formulate a strategy to make informed decisions throughout the student loan borrowing and repayment process.

The program is part of the University Libraries' Money Counts financial literacy series. To view past presentations from this series or to download PowerPoint slides and other resources, go to www.libraries.psu.edu/psul/researchguides/business/financialliteracy.html#moneycounts.
