Senior Sendoff to celebrate graduation, class of 2015

Lion Ambassadors, the student alumni corps of the Penn State Alumni Association, will celebrate this year’s senior class at Senior Sendoff, an annual event that provides seniors an opportunity to connect with Alumni Association affiliate groups. UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Before the pomp and circumstance of graduation begins, the Lion Ambassadors invite this year’s senior class to Senior Sendoff, an annual event that provides seniors an opportunity to connect with Penn State Alumni Association affiliate groups

This year's Senior Sendoff is scheduled from 1 to 5 p.m. Thursday, April 23, at the Hintz Family Alumni Center at the University Park campus.“This is a great way to celebrate the end of the year with your friends,” said Tara Bendler, senior committee director for the Lion Ambassadors. “For a lot of students, it’s really one of the last times we have with the seniors, and it’s both a thank you and farewell for their time at Penn State.”The event will include numerous activities and free food, catered by Chick-fil-A, Wings Over, Jersey Mike’s Subs, Dickey’s Barbecue Pit and Rita’s Italian Ice.“This is going to be one of the largest and most dynamic events we've ever had,” Bendler said. “For the first time, we are going to have a petting zoo, a balloon artist, inflatables and more. It's going to be an exciting day, so I encourage everyone to come out to Senior Sendoff.”There also will be performances by Urban Dance Troupe, the Performing Magicians, and a guest appearance from Roger Williams, executive director of the Penn State Alumni Association.Students are encouraged to post photos from Senior Sendoff on social media, using the hashtag, #SeniorSendoff2015.Senior Sendoff is co-sponsored by the Penn State Alumni Association, Penn State Alumni Association affiliate groups, University Park Allocation Committee (UPAC) and the Senior Class Gift Committee. The Penn State Lion Ambassadors are the student alumni corps of the Penn State Alumni Association. Their goal is to instill knowledge and pride in all members of the Penn State community by hosting events focused on different aspects and traditions of Penn State. Lion Ambassadors also play an active role in University admissions as campus tour guides and serve as an important facet of student outreach for the Alumni Association.
