Penn State Extension offering beef producer webinars

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Penn State Extension's Livestock Team is offering a two-part, Web-based seminar series focused on beef-production topics available to view at home and at various locations across the commonwealth.

The webinars will be held Wednesday, April 8, and Monday, April 20. Both sessions run from 7:30 until approximately 9 p.m.

The April 8 webinar will feature John Grimes, Ohio State University Extension beef coordinator, who will present "Capitalizing on the Historic Beef Economy," and Dr. Troy Brick, a veterinarian with Ohio State's Department of Veterinary Science, whose presentation is titled "The Future of Antibiotic Use in Beef Cattle."

The April 20 session, which originates in Butler County, will feature a presentation by Sara Linneen, assistant professor of animal science in Penn State's College of Agricultural Sciences, titled "Spring Nutritional Management of Cow-Calf Pairs." In addition, Ben Williamson, Penn State animal science instructor, will present "Replacement Heifer Development."
