Theatre Department to present 'All in the Timing'

The Penn State Berks Department of Theatre will present "All in the Timing," a collection of one-act plays by David Ives, at 8 p.m. April 7 to 10, and at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 11, in the Perkins Student Center Auditorium. Tickets are $10 for general admission, and $5 for Penn State faculty, staff and students with ID.

When first produced Off-Broadway at Primary Stages in 1993, the writing was praised by critics as both “highly imaginative and magically funny.” The New York Times stated, “In the world of David Ives, situations float at the far edge of the social map and quickly drift off into uncharted territory.” His work contains takes on the complications of interpersonal relationships and the nature of meaning in human existence, all wrapped in comic wordplay and comic situations. Ives is an award-winning playwright and a master of comic writing for the contemporary theater.

Theater majors Anthony Murano and Christopher Crawford will direct this production, along with Christopher Connelly, one of campus' guest artists this semester, who also serves as lighting designer for the production.

The cast includes Penn State Berks theater majors and non-majors, with many new young actors performing in a Mainstage production for the first time.
