Nominations open for awards honoring service to LGBT concerns

Each year the Commission on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Equity (CLGBTE) recognizes the contributions of individuals within the University community who have shown outstanding service regarding lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) concerns. 

The Outstanding Service Awards and Academic Achievement Award recognize individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the Penn State LGBT community. Current Penn State faculty, staff and students are eligible.

The Outstanding Service Awards recognize nominees who are active participants in improving the climate of diversity and inclusion for LGBT people at Penn State. Self-nominations are accepted.

The Academic Achievement Award recognizes outstanding achievement in research, teaching and/or academic coursework. Nominations should preferably acknowledge meritorious faculty, staff and students whose academic achievements are LGBT-focused but could also acknowledge the achievements of LGBT people in any area of research, teaching and student scholastic engagement. Self-nominations are accepted.

Recipients will be honored at the Penn State Lavender Graduation at 6 p.m. Friday, April 17, in Heritage Hall, HUB-Robeson Center.
