Pumariega inducted into Immaculata-LaSalle High School of Miami Hall of Fame

JoAnne Pumariega, instructor in mathematics and Spanish at Penn State Berks, will be inducted into the 2015 Hall of Fame at Immaculata-LaSalle High School in Miami, FL. She will receive the Saint John Bosco Alumni Award during the Hall of Fame Induction Dinner on May 2, at Immaculata-LaSalle High School.

Pumariega is a 1970 alumna of Immaculata-LaSalle High School. The Hall of Fame was established as a way to permanently recognize both alumni and faculty of outstanding character and reputation whose lives are stellar examples of the ideals and values Immaculata-La Salle High School has represented. The criteria of the Saint John Bosco Alumni Award are to have been a student in good standing, to have graduated at least 20 years previously, to have contributed to the betterment of the school as a student or alumnus, and to have contributed to their community, affecting the lives of many in a positive manner.

While a student at Immaculata-LaSalle High School, Pumariega was a student council officer for two years, served as co-editor of the high school paper, and was a member of the Honor Society.
