UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Penn State women's lacrosse senior Maggie McCormick (Eldersburg, Md.) tallied 12 points in two games en route to her first Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week accolade on Monday.

McCormick did a little bit of everything this past week, tallying four goals and eight assists in a split performance against Duquesne (W, 16-0) and No. 8 Virginia (L, 16-15).

In Tuesday's contest at Duquesne, the senior attacker was vital to the team's first shutout in 26 years, playing a hand in seven goals. McCormick scored four goals and dished three assists in the rout.

On Saturday against No. 8 Virginia, McCormick played a different role as the primary distributor. She ran the offense from behind the cage, posting a career-high five assists.

McCormick leads the team in assists (11) and points (16) this season. McCormick's assist total is third in the nation and sixth for assists per game. McCormick's 105 career assists is only 10 off the Penn State record held by Julie Tice (1997-2000), while her 210 career points has her in sixth all-time in program history.

McCormick is the second Nittany Lion to garner Big Ten weekly attention after Emi Smith's (Denver, Colo.) co-defensive honor in early February.

The Nittany Lions return to action on Saturday to face their second straight ranked foe, No. 17 Loyola Maryland, at 1 p.m. in Baltimore.
