Swimming, lifeguarding courses among upcoming Red Cross programs at Penn State

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Penn State will promotes Red Cross Month by offering swim lessons, lifeguarding courses and CPR/AED/first aid courses.

Penn State utilizes the American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim and Water Safety Programs to provide private and group swim lessons for children and adults. Red Cross Lifeguarding, Lifeguarding Review and CPR/AED (automated external defibrillator)/First Aid courses are also being offered.

Registration is now open through March 30 for parent/child, preschool, youth and adult group swimming lessons on Monday to Thursday evenings, twice a week at the White Building pool starting April 6. Lessons are taught by certified Red Cross Water Safety Instructors who train children to swim and make good decisions in, on or around the water.

Lifeguarding full courses will begin April 15 at McCoy Natatorium. Lifeguarding full and review courses are taught by certified Red Cross Lifeguard Instructors.

CPR/AED and First Aid courses are being offered multiple dates through March and April.
