Pegula Ice Arena to host 'Try hockey for free' clinic Feb. 21

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. (Feb. 16, 2014) – The Pegula Ice Arena will host its first ‘Try Hockey For Free’ clinic of 2015 on Saturday, Feb. 21 in conjunction with USA Hockey and the National Hockey League’s (NHL) Hockey Weekend Across America. Interested participants are asked to pre-register through the Pegula Ice Arena website at GoPSUsports.com/PegulaIceArena.
 
The free clinic is open to youth ages 4-14 with registration beginning at 11 a.m. at the Gate C Community Rink entrance of the arena. All participants will be provided with equipment to participate in the clinic. Participation is completely free and the first 40 participants will receive a free USA Hockey jersey. Instructors will teach basic skills and techniques to the youth in attendance. 
 
The ‘Try Hockey For Free’ clinic is something the Pegula Ice Arena will look to continue to do in the future to expand the sport in the region.  
 
“This is a tremendous opportunity for the youth in the region to come and try hockey for the first time. We’re really looking forward to teaching the kids on the ice.” said Ryan Patrick, Hockey Director for Pegula Ice Arena.
