Creese named Big Ten Men's Track Athlete of the Week

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- After setting the top-time in the mile over the weekend at the Sykes & Sabock Challenge Cup, Robby Creese (Mount Airy, Md.) was named the Big Ten Men's Track Athlete of the week, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon. This is the third career award for Creese.

Creese won the mile run Saturday with his time of 3:57.86. His time ranks first in the NCAA, but with conversions, his time ranks fourth. With a little over a month left in the indoor season, Creese has the top time in the 1,000, mile and is on the top 4x800-meter relay.

His time is the second-fastest in school history, only to his own school record time of 3:57.11 (2013). His time is also the fastest mile recorded on Penn State grounds.

The Nittany Lions hit the road this weekend as they travel to three meets across the nation. Penn State will be competing in the Husky Classic (Seattle, Wash.), SPIRE Invitational (Geneva, Ohio) and the Tyson Invitational (Fayetteville, Ark.).
