Laureate Susan Russell to lecture in School of Music Freshman Experience Series

February 06, 2015

Penn State Laureate Susan Russell, associate professor of theatre, will give a lecture, "A musician, an engineer, and a physicist walk into a bar...," from 2:30 to 3:20 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13, in Esber Recital Hall on the University Park campus. The lecture is part of the School of Music’s Freshmen Experience series but is open to the public.

During the lecture, Russell will discuss how people can make the decision to make changes. “If everything begins with a story, then the story of this moment begins with your decision to ‘show up,’” she said. “Once you decide to show up, anything is possible. Once anything is possible, then everything can change. So...what's your story now?”

The lecture is sponsored by the School of Music Diversity Committee and the Freshman Experience series, which seeks to motivate and inspire freshmen music majors through an array of lectures, workshops and performances.
