Interactive program to promote awareness of sexual violence on campus

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Penn State Lehigh Valley Campus Outreach Services will sponsor a presentation of “He Said-She Said,” an interactive case study designed to continue conversation and education about sexual assault, at 12:15 p.m. Feb. 3, in room 135 at the campus in Center Valley. Lunch will be provided.

During the presentation, students hear the real-life story of “Jake and Erica,” from their meeting in a class to their night of drinking and dancing. Members of the audience vote to decide whether lines were crossed and by whom. No two audiences ever feel the same. The educators lead a guided debate followed with key takeaways to promote bystander intervention and risk reduction.

Marissa Ketcham, Lehigh Valley campus nurse, took the opportunity to view this demonstration at a Title IX conference last year.

“I thought it was fantastic. Having the two student actors simultaneously give their perspective of a sexual assault allows the audience to hear the story from both sides,” said Ketcham.
