Lunch and learn to address breast density and cancer risk

January 21, 2015

More than half of all women have dense breast tissue and may have an increased risk of developing breast cancer.

Penn State Hershey Breast Center specialists will be available for one of three Lunch and Learn programs about this topic and how it affects health. The sessions are scheduled from noon to 1 p.m. on Jan. 26, Feb. 11, and March 10, at 30 Hope Dr., entrance A, room 1710A/B.

Session topics will include:

  • What is breast density and what are the associated risks?
  • How can breast density affect the detection of cancer in a mammogram?
  • What should I do if I have dense breasts?
  • How do I know if I’m considered high risk?

Attendees can meet members of the Breast Center team, ask questions and take home educational materials.

Lunch will be provided. Pre-registration is required, as seating will be limited. To register, visit PennStateHershey.org/breast.
