UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Penn State Police announced that additional security for Thursday's (Jan. 15) and Friday’s (Jan. 16) Board of Trustees meetings will be in place and they urge individuals attending committee meetings on Thursday or the 1:30 p.m. meeting on Friday at the Penn Stater Conference Center and Hotel to leave any large bags, backpacks or oversized handbags at home or in their automobiles.
The additional security is the result of several threats that were received by officials related to the January board meetings.
Anyone attending the meeting with a bag or backpack will be asked to either exit the building or will have their bag searched. Media attending the meeting also must go through a security check point at the entrance to President’s Hall, where the meeting is being held. Please be aware that entry may be delayed.
