University Staff Advisory Council announces new communications initiative

Dear Penn State staff members:The University Staff Advisory Council (USAC) is partnering with Penn State Today to bring you regular updates pertinent to staff. As a part of this effort, we will be writing to you at least twice a month during the fall and spring semesters, and occasionally during the summer. Also, it is our hope that this new dialogue will help members of the council to better understand the issues most important to all of you.

Penn State’s staff members are vital to the University, and their daily contributions help to make Penn State a world-class institution. Our council’s mission is to represent the interests of the staff in discussions with senior administrative leadership on a wide range of policies, procedures and programming. In the past, USAC has provided staff-oriented feedback on matters such as ethics and compliance procedures, presidential searches and staff evaluation systems. Our membership meets regularly with the University’s most senior administrators, including the president and provost, and has the opportunity for open and free exchanges of views about the issues of the moment.

We welcome your voice and suggestions as we turn a new page in our communications and outreach efforts! Your comments and questions always are welcome at Ustaff@psu.edu. It is our hope that this effort provides a convenient channel for information that flows both ways.

Signed,Jeremy Warner, USAC chair

More about USAC:

The University Staff Advisory Council was formed in January 1995, when the associate vice president for Human Resources appointed the body (formerly known as the Staff Advisory Committee) to act in an advisory capacity to senior administration through the vice president for Human Resources. Today’s USAC is composed of 30 members from across campuses, colleges and units, including liaisons representing the President’s equity commissions.
