Conaway's book chosen for NPR Best Books 2014 list

ALTOONA, Pa. -- Penn State Altoona alumnus Cameron Conaway's book, "Malaria, Poems," is one of five poetry collections to make NPR's Best Books of 2014 list.

Conaway is a graduate of Penn State Altoona's 2014 Emerging Writer-in-Residence. He is a former MMA fighter, an award-winning poet, and the author of five books: "Caged: Memoirs of a Cage-Fighting Poet" (Threed Press), "Until You Make the Shore" (Salmon Poetry), "Bonemeal" (Finishing Line Press), "Chittagong" (Iris Press) and "Malaria, Poems" (Michigan State University Press).

Conaway will begin teaching at Penn State Brandywine this spring with the Writing in the Humanities course.
