Snow may impact game day parking on Saturday

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Penn State officials are monitoring a weather system that is impacting most of Pennsylvania. Forecasts are calling for snow for the majority of today, which may have an impact on gameday parking and tailgating conditions for Saturday's Senior Day football game. Before traveling to the State College area, fans are encouraged to check for traffic and parking updates.

Penn State returns to Beaver Stadium for its final regular season finale on Saturday, Nov. 29 against No. 10 Michigan State. The Nittany Lions and Spartans are set to collide in a Senior Day clash at 3:30 p.m. on ABC (ESPN2 in outer markets), the Penn State Sports Network and www.GoPSUsports.com. The winner claims the Land Grant Trophy.

Conditions could change with the track of the weather system, which is calling for varying levels of snowfall across central Pennsylvania. Penn State is asking fans to check www.GoPSUsports.com and live.psu.edu and local radio stations (1450 AM, 93.7 FM, 970 AM) for further updates prior to kickoff.

Penn State Customer Relations representatives will be available at 1-800-NITTANY today until 5 p.m., Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. until one hour after the conclusion of the game. Fans can follow the Twitter hashtag #PSUparking for updates. Advance parking for Saturday's game is no longer available for purchase.

More information will be distributed once Penn State can better predict the impact the snow will have on the grass and paved parking lots. The State College forecast for Saturday is partly sunny and in the upper 30's, with no precipitation.

Seventeen Penn State seniors will be introduced to the Beaver Stadium faithful in a pre-game ceremony that annually is one of the highlights of the season.

Tickets are available for the Michigan State game at PSUnrivaled.com, calling 1-800-NITTANY Wednesday and Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. or at the Bryce Jordan Center ticket office (weekdays, 10 a.m-6 p.m.). The Beaver Stadium ticket office, near Gate E, opens four hours before kickoff for all Penn State home games and will open at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
