Men's tennis wraps up fall schedule at William & Mary Invitational

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Penn State men's tennis team finishes their fall schedule this weekend at the William & Mary Invitational. The tournament begins on Friday and follows a singles and doubles flight format.

Joining Head Coach Jeff Zinn's Nittany Lions and William & Mary at the invitational are Harvard and Old Dominion. The Crimson finished ranked 28th in the ITA Poll last spring.

Play begins on Friday with Penn State's 1-6 singles players taking on Harvard's at 11:30 a.m. The Nittany Lions' 1-3 doubles pairs will meet Harvard's doubles pairs at 2:30 p.m. and William & Mary's duos at 3 p.m. The day wraps up at 5 p.m. with the 7 and 8 singles flight players competing.

Eight Nittany Lions will make the trip to Williamsburg, Va.

Sophomore Nika Dolidze (Tbilisi, Georgia) leads the team with five wins this fall. Senior Tomas Hanzlik (Prague, Czech Republic) and junior Roman Trkulja (Toronto, Canada) each have four wins.

Sophomore Marc Collado Castells (Barcelona, Spain) has three wins in tournament play, while sophomore Aws Laaribi (Rye, N.Y.) and senior Michael Reilly (Raleigh, N.C.) each have a pair of wins. Sophomore Christian Lutschaunig (Richboro, Pa.) has one victory this fall.

Junior Leonard Stakhovsky (Kiev, Ukraine), ranked 29th in the ITA Poll, is seeking his first win this fall.

Laaribi and Trkulja are 5-1 in doubles this fall, including reaching the quarterfinals at the ITA Atlantic Regional. Reilly and Stakhovsky reached the doubles semifinal in that tournament and are 3-1 this fall.
