READING, Pa. -- Alan Kipping-Ruane, a Penn State Berks student and U.S. Navy veteran, has been named to the “Top 40 Under 40 Military Class of 2014” by CivilianJobs.com’s worldwide military base newspaper, Military Transition News (MTN), and the winners are being released this week in honor of Veterans Day.

Kipping-Ruane, a senior majoring in kinesiology, is the founder of TriGuy Multisport Coaching, which offers triathlon coaching services, triathlon training plans and Ironman training camps. During his military service, Kipping-Ruane was the training supervisor of a helicopter combat squadron. He is a Certified USA Triathlon Level 1 Coach, and a Certified Youth and Junior Triathlon Coach.

“Every year the caliber of applicants for the Top 40 Under 40 Military pushes the envelope to new heights, and this year was no different,” said Jake Hutchings, director of CivilianJobs.com. “In sum, they exemplify the quality and stature of military-experienced personnel as a whole; individually, these service members have etched their names among the best and brightest in their respective military and post-uniform ventures."

The Top 40 Under 40 Military program recognizes the top performing service members who are serving or have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. They are profiled each year in the November/December Veterans Day issue of MTN.
