UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- WPSU-TV hit the airwaves nearly 50 years ago and the station is calling on former employees and interns to share memories and to send messages as it approaches its golden anniversary.

Messages, which may be shared during the anniversary celebration, can be sent to wpsumarketing@psu.edu. The 50th anniversary of WPSU-TV is set for March.

WPSU-TV — originally known as WPSX-TV — broadcast for the first time March 1, 1965, as an outlet for educational programming for more than 100 elementary and secondary schools across Pennsylvania. Today, WPSU/Penn State Public Media reaches a global audience as part of the national PBS and NPR public broadcasting network.
