Commission for Women to host Personal Safety and Sexual Assault Prevention Panel

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State’s Commission for Women is holding a Personal Safety and Sexual Assault Prevention Panel as part of its monthly public meeting from 12:15 to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, in 404 Old Main. The panel, “WE ARE All Responsible to Stop Sexual Violence,” will describe the myriad ways in which Penn State responds to the problem of sexual violence on campus.

The panel members include:
Danny Shaha – director of student conduct and deputy Title IX coordinator, Student Affairs
Peggy Lorah – director, Center for Women Students
Spencer Peters – detective and victim resource officer, University Police
Jody Althouse – director of outreach and education, Centre County Women’s Resource Center
Melissa McCleery – student representative, University Park Undergraduate Association
Brian Gutierrez – student representative, Men Against Violence

The Commission for Women was established in 1981 to serve as an advisory group to the President of the University on issues affecting women and to guide the University in its efforts to enhance the status of women at Penn State.
