Scholar from Shanghai set for presentation, visit

One of the leading communications scholars in Shanghai will conduct a three-day visit to the College of Communications, making a presentation and visiting several classes from Tuesday, Oct. 7, through Thursday, Oct. 9.

Ye Lu, a professor of journalism at Fudan University, will address the visual expression of urban culture in Shanghai during her free public presentation at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, in 24 Carnegie Building.

She will also visit several classes to discuss TV reporting and multimedia reporting.

Lu's research interests include professionalism and news production, media effects and audiences, as well as urban communication. She is the deputy directory for the Center of Information and Communication Studies at Fudan University.

Lu earned her doctoral degree in journalism from Fudan University. She earned her mater's degree in journalism from Beijing Broadcasting Institute, and holds a bachelor's degree in computer science from Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
