PA Green Colleges to hold sustainability conference at Penn State

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Pennsylvania Environmental Resource Consortium (PERC) is hosting its fall conference and annual meeting at Penn State on Nov. 12. The event, "Engaging Sustainability," will focus on what is happening on Pennsylvania campuses to energize engagement with sustainability.

The keynote address will be given by Michael E. Mann, Distinguished Professor of Meteorology.

The conference includes:

-- a panel on engaging the campus in sustainability work;

-- a panel discussion on engaging the community;

-- an update on PERC's special initiative, the PA Higher Ed Food Recovery Challenge;

-- a poster session from schools across the state; and

-- a panel composed of selected PERC 2014 Campus Sustainability Champions, a statewide effort to recognize individuals who are doing commendable work on moving sustainability forward on their campuses and in their community.

Penn State students, faculty and staff are invited to submit a poster on their work with sustainability efforts on campus. Poster topics include food recovery programs, community engagement, living laboratories and educational projects. Submission deadline is Oct. 7. Learn more about the call for posters here.
