Workshop discusses student loan repayment

How to avoid making student loan borrowing mistakes.

"Strategies for Success: Student Loan Repayment,” a workshop, will be presented from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 8, in Foster Auditorium, 102 Paterno Library on the University Park campus of Penn State. When students graduate, withdraw from school or drop below half-time enrollment status, they have six months before the first payment is due on subsidized and unsubsidized loans. It is normal for students to wait until graduation to make student loan repayment plans, but in many cases, this could be too late.

In this workshop on student loan repayment strategies, Penn State Financial Literacy Coordinator Daad Rizk will explain the student loan repayment process to help students avoid making student loan borrowing mistakes, provide specific tips on budgeting and help to formulate a strategy to make informed decisions throughout the student loan borrowing and repayment process.
