UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Penn State School of Music has announced the creation of a new option within its bachelor of arts degree program: bachelor of arts-music technology. This new degree option is available to current students as well as to those pursuing acceptance beginning fall 2015.

Students wishing to enroll in the bachelor of arts-music technology degree must first audition for acceptance into the School of Music. Four semesters of music courses and additional general education courses in calculus, physics, musical acoustics and computer science must be completed prior to applying for admission to the music technology option, typically at the end of the sophomore year.

Music Technology majors will take courses in desktop music production, recording studio maintenance, film scoring and software programming for musicians during their final four semesters of study.
