Thomas Twardzik of Ateeco Inc./Mrs. T's Pierogies to speak Sept. 16

On Tuesday, Sept. 16, Thomas F. Twardzik, president of Ateeco Inc./Mrs. T’s Pierogies, will speak at Penn State Schuylkill, beginning at 7 p.m. in the John E. Morgan Auditorium. He is the second speaker during the year-long series of events celebrating Penn State Schuylkill’s 80-year partnership with the local community.

Twardzik is a Schuylkill County native, graduating from Shenandoah Valley High School in 1979. He went on to graduate from the University of San Diego in 1983. In 1989 he was appointed president of Ateeco Inc. and continues to serve in this role.

Twardzik is an active member of the community, currently serving as a member of the Shenandoah Valley District School Board; the Shenandoah and Schuylkill Chambers of Commerce, from which he was awarded 2012 Businessman of the Year; and the Shenandoah Team for the Schuylkill United Way Campaign. Additionally, he serves as a eucharistic minister at Divine Mercy Parish.

His past commitments included serving as a board member for the Pottsville Hospital and Warne Clinic, the Municipal Authority of the Borough of Shenandoah, the Luzerne/Schuylkill Workplace Investment Board and the Schuylkill United Way. He has also served as campaign chair for the Schuylkill United Way.

Twardzik was active with local youth programs, coaching for Shenandoah Little League and Teeners baseball, and coaching and serving as treasurer for the Shenandoah Youth Soccer Association.
