University Park, PA—The Palmer Museum of Art will present their summer 2014 Art After Hours event from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, June 14, on the Palmer Museum of Art Plaza. Pack a picnic dinner, bring a lawn chair or blanket, and invite your friends and family to enjoy a live performance by Callanish, a Celtic band based in central Pennsylvania.

Band members Patty Lambert, Carol Lindsay, Gretchen Lee, Louisa Smith and Holly Foy will play traditional Irish and Scottish music including lively jigs and reels, haunting airs and rollicking songs from across the British Isles.

Complimentary ice cream from the Berkey Creamery will be served, and free parking is available in adjacent lots. In the event of rain, the performance will be held in the Palmer Lipcon Auditorium, and seating may be limited.

The museum galleries will be open. Special exhibitions currently on view include, "Seeing America: Photographs from the Permanent Collection" through August 10; "Mining the Store: American Prints from the Permanent Collection" through August 24; and "Window on the West: Views from the American Frontier" through August 31.

The Palmer Museum of Art at Penn State is located on Curtin Road, University Park, and admission is free. Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. The museum is closed Mondays and some holidays, and will be closed Friday, July 4.
