Penn State Altoona, Steve and Nancy Sheetz honored with Townie Award

Penn State Altoona, and Steve and Nancy Sheetz were honored with a Townie Award at a banquet June 2 at the Blair County Convention Center. Created by the Pennsylvania Downtown Center, the Townies is an annual event in which communities from across the commonwealth are recognized for noteworthy revitalization projects or events throughout the year.

The award for Organizational Development: Community Partnerships is given to recognize organizations that have reached out and forged innovative and mutually beneficial relationships with other downtown or neighborhood organizations, specifically those that have a vested interest in downtown or neighborhood revitalization.

The campus, and Steve and Nancy Sheetz were recognized with the Community Partnership award for their joint efforts in contributing to the revitalization of downtown Altoona, including the Sheetz Center for Entrepreneurial Excellence.
