UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Community Diversity Group (CDG), along with the Borough of State College, the Centre County Human Resources Council, Penn State affiliates and community members, will host a one-day conference to facilitate open dialogue on what it takes to build a richer and more inclusive community.
The 2014 Community Diversity Conference: Embracing and Implementing Inclusion is set for 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, at the The Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel, 215 Innovation Blvd.
The conference curriculum will address cultural competence from multiple angles to provide a unique opportunity to enhance community relations, increase awareness about diversity issues prevalent in our communities and improve the overall social climate of the State College area. The subjects of privilege, social justice and multiple lenses will be addressed. The keynote presenters are the SST Group out of Chicago who present an engaging performance that is both thought provoking and dialogue enhancing on the topic of diversity and inclusion.

The Community Diversity Group (CDG) is a nonprofit coalition with representatives from the citizens of Centre County, businesses of Centre County, employees of Penn State, local governments and local nonprofit organizations.
