Last Peace Corps information events of the semester April 30-May 1

April 25, 2014

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Next week will be the last chance until Fall semester for students to attend Penn State Peace Corps information events.

  • The last open Office Hours of the spring semester will be held 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 30 and Thursday May 1 in 105 Career Services Center, University Park. Students can drop by with any questions regarding Peace Corps service.
  • The final Peace Corps Information session of the 2013-14 academic year will be held 4-5 p.m. Thursday, May 1, in 103 Career Services Center. This particular information session is special, as attendees will listen to a talk by Returned Peace Corps Volunteer Hannah Grow, a 2011 Penn State alumna, who just last month finished serving as a health volunteer in Nicaragua. Come out to hear about Hannah's adventures and learn about how you can make a difference in the world after Penn State.
  • A Send-off Potluck dinner will be held 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 1, at 234 Career Services Center, though students should feel free to stop by whenever is most convenient. Take a break from studying to celebrate those from the Penn State community who are preparing to depart for Peace Corps assignments overseas. Speak with Returned Peace Corps Volunteers and try dishes from countries of service. All are welcome -- but not required -- to bring food or refreshments to share. Come for the free food and stay for the stories.
