No Text Zone launch event held at Lebanon Valley College

Texting while driving kills thousands of people and seriously injures many others each year. This week, Lebanon Valley College joined in the fight against distracted driving at an event that brought the No Text Zone campaign to the LVC campus.

No Text Zone is a joint effort among WHP-TV CBS 21, Faulkner Honda and Penn State Hershey Medical Center to spread the word about the potentially deadly consequences of sending a text from behind the wheel.

LVC President Lewis E. Thayne and Student Government President Tito Valdes were among the first members of the LVC community to sign the No Text Zone pledge. Those in attendance also included Jeanne Arnold, Lebanon Valley College Board of Trustees; Dr. Scott Armen, a trauma surgeon, Jodi Yocum, a clinical head nurse, and Susan Lampariello, trauma nurse coordinator; all from Penn State Hershey; and representatives of WHP-TV.
